Boldi
Sculptor
studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1990 and went on to complete his studies as a sculptor at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest.
Boldi’s works have been exhibited worldwide – in Hungary, France, Brazil, China, South Korea, Turkey, the USA, Israel, the UK, Ireland, Austria, the Netherlands and Spain.
The creation of human figures not only reveals their true form, but also expresses both the artist’s outlook on life and their empathy. The subtle harmony between imagination and reason testifies to both the artist’s maturity and their creativity.
When working with bronze, nickel-plated bronze and white Carrara marble (sourced from the prized quarry in Carrara, from which Michelangelo himself created his masterpieces) the sculptor makes the most of the tactile qualities and light-reflecting properties of these materials. The exquisite surfaces are so masterfully crafted and polished that they invite the viewer to touch the works. Through the carefully worked, exquisite material, he creates a hymn to the beauty of nature.
Boldi’s work Genesis is a breathtaking, organically abstract sculpture that encapsulates the age-old concept of creation and new beginnings in a single, elegant and modern form.

Sculptures

Boldi’s art is a unique fusion of monumental tranquillity and sensual dynamism. The essence of his sculptures lies in the extreme simplification of their forms. His works do not capture figures with anatomical precision, but rather at their emotional and spiritual core. His sculptures are rounded and smooth; they move through space with such natural ease that they appear as though they have been polished to perfection by the forces of nature – water or wind.
A central element of his work is a profound humility towards the material, coupled with his masterful command of it: whether white Carrara marble, deep-red andesite or gleaming bronze – Boldi knows how to tame even the hardest of materials.
