This work depicts three moments: the three states of water. It also emphasises the elementary necessity of water, which proves to be both a blessing and a curse.
The left-hand panel depicts the curse in the form of an icy flood. The right-hand panel shows the blessing and the steam. All this comes together in the central section, where water proves itself to be the foundation of life.
